League of Women Voters hosting forum series featuring area election races

It’s election season and the League of Women Voters of Ann Arbor Area – Brighton/Howell Unit is rolling out a nonpartisan candidate forum series to help inform voters about local races.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic recommendations, forums will be held virtually to ensure public safety.

Our local league has scheduled forums from September 19th  through the 25th and will record and post the videos on our YouTube Channel  as they become available.  Forums will cover the following races:

42nd and 47th districts of the Michigan House of Representatives

     Livingston County Board of Commissioners

     Livingston County Clerk

     Livingston County Prosecutor

     Livingston County Treasurer

     Livingston County Register of Deeds

School Boards of: Howell, Brighton, Hartland and Fowlerville

The League is seeking questions from county residents to pose in these forums.  Please submit them by email to: lwvbrighton.howellarea@gmail.com

The League wants the voting public to know that they can vote absentee ballot by mail without giving a reason or excuse. We also encourage everyone to support fair and accessible elections by signing up to be a poll worker.  Those interested can contact the Livingston County Clerk’s office or go to the website: michigan.gov/sos      Voters can visit VOTE411.org, an on line nonpartisan voter guide brought to you by the League of Women Voters Education Fund.  The site will identify what is on the ballot, how to find your polling place, and responses that candidates gave to questions that the league posed.
