James Harold ‘Jim’ Mills

    Jim Mills (James Harold) passed away on July 8, 2026 at the age of ninety. He will be missed as a faithful husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. He lived by the mantra, “Have fun!” and he found a wonderful companion in his wife Barbara, to join him in adventures his whole life long. With his four children in tow, he spent many weekends camping, sailing catamarans, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and traveling in the Mitten and beyond, especially in an old school bus he renovated and refurbished himself.

    Naturally athletic and fast as a young man, Jim was also creative and handy, able to produce anything he had a mind to. He found a career as a master plumber. He could play the piano, draw, and sing right along with Johnny Cash. Throughout the years, he became an accomplished wood worker and explored many other artistic pursuits including stained glass, painting, calligraphy, wood carving, and more.

    An avid golfer, he and Barb traveled across the country with friends in their motorhome and visited many golf courses in retirement. He was legendary for his sweet tooth, storytelling, and light blue eyes. Jim’s family—his wife and children, Kyle Sober, Jim (Susan) Mills, Steve Mills, Kris (Dave) Pressley, his nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren—can’t wait to see him again in heaven.

 Western Livingston County voters have several contested races in upcoming August 4th Primary

    Voters residing in Western Livingston County have several contested races in the upcoming August 4th Michigan Primary to decide on. Otherwise, the candidates running for their respective party nominations are unopposed.

    On the Democratic Party ballot, there are three disputed contests. These include the Michigan Governor’s race with Jocelyn Benson and Chris Swanson as the candidates, the U.S. Senate race where Abdul El-Sayed and Haley Stevens are facing each other, and the 7th Congressional District contest where Bridget Brink, William Lawrence, and Matt Maasdon are vying for the nominaton.

    On the Republican Party ballot there is the Governor’s race with John James and Perry Johnson seeking the nomination. Others on the ballot have suspended their campaigns. Locally, there are three candidates seeking the partial term as a trustee on the Howell Township Board that was created by a resignation, The term runs until Nov. 20, 2028. The GOP candidates are John Marhofer II, Jeffrey Smith, and Laura Wilkerson.

    Also of local interest is the Livingston County 44th Circuit Court judgeship on the non-partisan ballot. Seeking to fill the six-year term are Andrea Banfield, Christopher Candela, Mark Gatesman, Mary Ellen Hayes, and Kristina Lyke. The top two vote-getters in advance to the November General Election.

Fowlerville Area Historical Society & Library presenting display on local fair

    The Fowlerville Area Historical Society is joining with the Fowlerville District Library in presenting "An Historic Look at the Fowlerville Family Fair". Of special interest are historic items on loan from the Fowlerville Agricultural Society. These items and many others will be on display during Fair Week in the back alcove of the Library.

    Kids Day at the Fowlerville Family Fair—scheduled for this Wednesday, July 29—offers reduced a reduced wristband price, plus lots of fun activities that are free.

    The kid-friendly activities get underway at or near the Finlan Gazebo, starting at 9:30 a.m. They include:

    At Noon the midway, operated by Skerbeck Carnival, opens. A $28 wristband is available for purchase, allowing unlimited rides from then until closing.

 Lansing Concert Big Band to perform at Williamston park on July 30th

    The Williamston Summer Concert Series will host longtime favorite ‘The Lansing Concert BIG BAND’ this Thursday, July 30th 7pm in McCormick Park. This is the longest running act in the Williamston Bandshell, going back to 2008. The 22-piece band features big band favorites and classics with two featured vocalists. The Big Band is sponsored annually by Bappert Automotive.

    Concessions by The Williamston Area Senior Center. Social District adult beverages available at any nearby restaurant. 2026 patrons include Williamston Rotary, Custom Built Design & Remodelling, Granger Waste Services and Xfinity/Comcast.

 Country Music Concerts taking place at Fowlerville Family Fair this week

    County Music Concerts are taking place at the Fowlerville Family Fair this week, with each of the shows being held in front of the Grandstand an hour prior to that evening evening’s main entertainment.

    Kari Holmes, a Fowlerville-based entertainer, will perform on Tuesday, July 28, at 6pm; Wednesday, July 29, at 6:30pm; and Thursday, July 30, at 6pm.

    DeWayne Spaw, who hales from Springport, will do his show on Friday, July 31, at 6pm and on then on Saturday, August 1, at 4pm.

 Gage Bialobrzeski

Celebration of Life on July 26th

    It is with a broken heart I am sharing, Gage Kele Bialobrzeski, 19 of Fowlerville, passed away on Friday April 10th.

    Gage's funeral was held on Wednesday, April 15th at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Howell. Many friends and family filled the room to say goodbye. His obituary & memorial video can be found on the funeral home website.

    On Sunday July 26th, on Gage's birthday, friends and family will gather at one of Gage's favorite spots, the Spring Mill Pond in Island Lake State Park to celebrate Gage's life and Live Like Gage. Many plan to spend the day enjoying the beach before the celebration starts at 4pm.  James “Roger” Cahaney

    James “Roger” Cahaney passed away on July 14, 2026, in Howell, Michigan surrounded by his wife and children. Roger was born April 20,1944, in Detroit, Michigan to Matthew and Michaeline (Sajkowski) Cahaney. He grew up in Hamtramck and Detroit Michigan alongside his three siblings, Pattie Jo, Michael, and David. He graduated from Detroit Catholic Central High School in 1962 and immediately joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a radar maintenance operator from 1962 – 1966. He was a member of the drum and bugle corp while stationed in Keesler AFB. He also served in Ft. Yukon AFS and Chandler AFS until he was honorably discharged as an airman first class.

    Following his time in the military, he pursued a career in computer programming working at Winkelman’s, First Federal Savings, and retiring from Ford Motor Company. In 1991 he received a Bachelor of Arts from Spring Arbor College, and in 2007 completed a second Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies from Siena Heights University to pursue his calling from God. He served the St. Agnes community for 17 years as an Ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. Roger helped strengthen parishioners’ faith through preaching, baptisms, marriages, funerals, and RCIA; he is well loved by his parish family.

    Roger loved singing, he was an avid member of multiple SPEBSQSA chapters including Detroit City Motor Chorus and Capital City Chordsmen. His favorite by far was participating in four-part harmony quartets The Harmony Seekers and The Patch Chords. The way Roger loved so deeply was seen through every one of his passions. His love for trains included a large collection of Lionel electric trains and live steam engine excursions. Family camping was the highlight of every summer, visiting state and national parks throughout the U.S. He expressed his creativity through woodworking, creating beautiful pieces of furniture and personalized keepsakes for his loved ones.

    On July 21 of 1967, Roger married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Rosemary “Cookie” Gustina at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Detroit, Michigan. They were one week from celebrating 59 years of marriage. He was a wonderful and loving father to his four children. Roger is survived by his wife, Rosemary; four children, Marie (Mike) Byars, Jenny (Pete) Bodary, Lynn (Bill) Shively, and Tim; 18 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, David Edmonds, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Michaeline Cahaney; sister, Pattie Jo; and brother, Michael.

    Roger’s visitation will be open to the public on July 22 from 2-7 p.m. with a vigil service including a rosary held at 6 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church (Fowlerville, MI). St. Agnes will also celebrate a funeral mass July 23, at 11 a.m. with time for visitation an hour prior. A luncheon will be hosted by parish members after the Mass at Lothamer Parish Center. Internment is currently planned with full military honors at Mount Olivet Cemetery on Tuesday, July 28 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roger’s memory to St. Agnes Christian Service.

 Dawn Kleinschmidt

Fowlerville, Michigan

    Her Legacy… Dawn Marie (Chard) Kleinschmidt, 65, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026. She was born on March 15, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, to Billy Chard and Beverly (Furmanek) Chard. On October 27, 1979, Dawn married the love of her life, Tony Kleinschmidt, in Fowlerville, Michigan, beginning a marriage of 46 years filled with love and devotion. Dawn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and cherished grandmother who always put the needs of others before her own. She found great joy in caring for her family, whether she was preparing home-cooked meals, planning family gatherings, or simply making everyone feel welcome and loved. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and supporting their passions.

    In her free time, Dawn enjoyed reading, traveling, camping in the family's beloved "Mo-ho," and trying her luck at the casino. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

    Her Family… Dawn will be missed by her husband, Tony Kleinschmidt; her children, Nikki (Mike) Powers, Kayla Kleinschmidt, Keri (Dan) LeFevre; siblings, Debbie (Rick) Browne, Darleen (Craig) Horton, Denise (Bruce) Leach; grandchildren, Collin, Madalyn, Jayden, Nevaeh, Presley, Camren; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, baby Kleinschmidt; and parents, Bill and Beverly Chard.

Her Community Farewell Service was on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM (10:00 AM Gathering time) at the First Baptist Church of Fowlerville, in Fowlerville, Michigan.  Reed Davis

    Reed Davis quietly passed away at his Williamston home on July 7, 2026. He was born July 29, 1957, in Lansing, Michigan to parents Ernie & Dellie Davis.

    He was the youngest male of 15 children.

    A 1976 graduate of Dansville High School, he was well known for his victory as State Heavyweight Wrestling Champion. After graduation, he wrestled for LCC, traveling to California and several other states.

    Reed married Liz Larson at Rowley Wesleyan Church on October 1, 1983, in Williamston, MI. Together, they enjoyed a wonderul life and family.

    They had three children: Seth, Margaret, and Lillyan.

    Reed's professional life included welding, truck driving, and asphalt paving. His work history was exemplary, working for Moore's Farm Repair, Garry's Asphalt, GL DePue Asphalt, One Way Paving, Rieth Riley, and H&H Welding for many years.

    He loved many things in life, including lawn care ('lawn ranger' liked a neat yard!) on his John Deere/weed wacker, hunting, westerns, Family Feud, Jeopardy, Big-Time wrestling, WWE, WCW, playing his guitar, and spending time with family and friends. His faithful dogs—Mayday, Thor, and Charlie—brought him much joy!

    Salmon cakes, fried eggplant, fried green tomatoes, strawberry ice cream, and coconut cream pie were a few of his favorite foods.

    Reed is survived by his wife Liz, daughters Margaret and Lillyan, and granddaughters Carmen, Alex and Sunny. *Sisters- Dani in Kansas, Cleta in Alaska, and Catherine, Rosa, and Tarrie in Michigan. His best friend David Bach, multiple nieces and nephews, plus faithful friends Juan, Bruce, Tom, Joe, Glen, Bob, and Ruth Komar of Hastings, MI.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Ernie & Dellie Davis, his son Seth Davis; and siblings Cal, Helton, Fred, Gene, Ernie Jr., Earl, Maureen, Mary, and Wanda. *Special friends- George and Shirlene Harris ('God will provide'), and Clifford Sloan.

    The family wishes to thank all of the medical specialists/nursing staff, especially Dr. John Nicklas, at U of M - Ann Arbor for their expert care over the last few years.

    A Celebration of Life is scheduled at Webberville United Methodist Church, 4215 Holt Rd, Webberville on Friday, July 24th at 12 noon. Luncheon will follow the service.

 Susan Beckerson

    Her Legacy… Susan "Susie" Jean (Holliday) Beckerson, 70, passed away on July 9, 2026. Born on July 12, 1955, in Duluth, Minnesota, Susie was the daughter of Donald Holliday Jr. and Marion (Girard) Holliday. She found love with Dennis Hartman and got married on October 2, 2021, on the farm in Webberville, Michigan. Susie will be remembered for her loving, supportive, and gracious spirit. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Over the years, she became a second mom to many, offering encouragement, kindness, and a nurturing heart to friends and anyone in need.

    Along with her gentle nature, she also had a sweet, sassy sense of humor that brought smiles to those around her. She found great joy in spending time outdoors, whether tending to her garden, watching birds, or walking along the beach collecting shells, shark teeth and rocks. Susie loved to travel with family and friends and was always ready for her next adventure. A parishioner of St. Agnes Church for more than 10 years, Susie found comfort and community in her faith. She especially enjoyed sharing her love of music as a member of the church choir.

    Her Family… Susie will be missed by her husband, Dennis Hartman; her children, Jessica Hartman, Becky (Jon) Raether, Christy Hartman, Matthew Beckerson, Dennis Hartman, Casey Middlesworth, Adam Hartman; siblings, Beth (John) Larson, Diane (Mike) Gregg, numerous grandchildren; and a great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marion Holliday; siblings, Mark Holliday, Curt Holliday, Ann Holliday.

 Thom ‘Stretch’ Teeples

    Thom (aka Stretch) Teeples passed away May 27, 2026 at Medilodge of Howell after a long battle with his health. Thom was born with the knowledge that he wouldn’t have an extremely long life, so he lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed rock music, going to concerts with his friends, barbequing and just hanging out. During his last few years he enjoyed bird and deer watching, going up north with his family and listening to more music. Thom was a gentle giant and friend to many, he will be greatly missed.

    He is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Earl Teeples and his aunts Evelyn Thomas and Geroldine Harris. His good friend Vicky Hunt Bach passed a week after him. Thom is survived by his sister Sheila (Harry) Mudri; brother Darl (Marcia) Teeples; nephews, Alex Teeples, Mark (Kemery) Mudri and Derrick (Colleen Farrell) Mudri; nieces, Charleigh Teeples and Rebecca (Nate) Ussery; his great nephew Rhys Ussery; and great nieces Isla Ussery, Kennedy Saunders, Miley, and Parker Mudri.

    A Celebration of Life will take place on July 25, at his house.

 Barbara Jean DeForest

    Barbara Jean DeForest, born on February 24, 1943, in Stockbridge, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026. A proud graduate of Dansville High School’s Class of 1962, Barbara carried with her the values of family, community, kindness, and strength.

    Barbara is survived by Edward DeForest, her devoted husband and partner for 62 years. Together, they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and shared memories, creating a legacy that will continue through family and all who were blessed to know her.

    She is also survived by her daughters Penny Parker and Tammy Luty; son-in-law Steven Luty; grandchildren David and Gina Burns, Nicholas and McKenna Luty, Jared Parker (Isabelle Bembas), Nichole Parker (Clifford LeVeque), Catherine Luty and Kimberly Luty; and great grandson William Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents Clinton and Gladys (Fulton) Dunsmore, and her sister Dorothy Hitchcock.

    Barbara worked for Child and Family Services as a home health aide, a role that reflected her caring heart and dedication to helping others. Through her work, she offered comfort, support, and compassion to those in need. She was involved with the Girl Scouts during her youth and with her daughters.

    Barbara was a faithful member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She loved books of faith and stories about pioneer life and Amish communities. She will be remembered for the lives she touched and the many memories she created with family and friends through calls, cards, and special occasions.

    Visitation took place Wednesday, July 15, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm and on Thursday, July 16, from 10:00 to 10:45 am. The memorial service followed on Thursday, July 16, at 11:00 am, all at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, MacDonald Chapel (315 N Michigan Ave., Howell, MI). A brief graveside service immediately followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville, MI).

    In lieu of flowers, family and friends can offer donations to Oak Grove United Methodist Church (6686 Oak Grove Rd., Howell, MI).

 Local musicians & vocalists to perform at Williamston Concert Series July 23rd

    The ‘Local Talent All-Stars’ will be coming back to the Williamston Concert Series this Thursday, July 23, at 7pm at McCormick Park. The concert features an eight-piece band of local musicians and featured vocalists from Williamston.

    Music is arranged by Stan Takis and Emmitt Omar and led by Jonny Ellis. This year's theme is "Sounds of the 70's." Come see and hear your friends and neighbors perform. The concert is sponsored by Six String Place and Good Bake Bagels. Concessions by The Williamston Area Senior Center.

 Samuel VanValkenburg

Fowlerville, Michigan

    His Legacy… Samuel Kenneth VanValkenburg, 66, passed away July 3, 2026. He was born on December 15, 1959, in Paw Paw, Michigan, to Kenneth VanValkenburg and Anna (Beck) VanValkenburg. Sam married the love of his life, Bonnie Cottongim, on November 1, 1980 in Fowlerville, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving, one of a kind dad and friend who always had something to say. Sam always spoke his mind, and he didn’t hesitate to share his thoughts with anyone he encountered. It’s been said that Sam never met a stranger, everywhere he went he happened upon an old friend that he could catch up with. There is no doubt that his love stretched farther than anyone could ever realize.

    Sam had a big heart; he’d give you the shirt off his back if you ever needed one. His generosity stemmed into the kitchen, keeping a snack and goodie drawer always stocked for his family and the neighborhood kids alike. Sam knew how to spoil his grandchildren; he always made a point to shower them with love when they were near. Sam will be remembered most for that very love and the way he used it to care for everyone he met.

    His Family… Sam will be missed by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Troy (Charlotte), Quinten (Jennifer), Amanda (Jason); sister, Lisa (Randy); grandchildren, Austin (Alissa), Ashley, Ben (Kyra), Drake, Tylor, Savannah, Malia, Landyn, Eliana; great grandchildren, Memphis, Braden, Brody; close friends, Bill Hudson & Ed Eogler, and many nieces and nephews.  Garry Stoinski

Fowlerville, Michigan

    His Legacy… Garry Joe Stoinski, 72, passed away July 2, 2026. He was born on February 25, 1954, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Frank Stoinski and Myrtle (Faris) Stoinski. Garry married the love of his life, Beth (Collins) Stoinski on March 10, 1990. He will be remembered as a quiet, calm man who never asked for a lot.

    In his younger years, Garry was an avid golfer. Once he stopped playing, his love for sports shifted to watching them on TV. When he wasn’t watching golf or NASCAR, he could often be found sitting on the porch. Here, he would enjoy watching the corn grow and spotting deer. Garry also enjoyed hunting for any rodents that crept too close to his house.

    Garry was blunt. If he had something to say, he would say it. This quality presented in many ways throughout his life. Perhaps the most admirable way his blunt side shone was the way Garry would always be the first to admit his faults. Most of all, Garry will be remembered for the love he held for his kids and grandbabies.

    His Family… Garry will be missed by his wife, Beth Stoinski; his children, Samantha (Josh) Fox and Scott Stoinski; Grandchildren, Grace, Daisy, and Molly Fox; Nephew, Brian Purdy, and his children Brandon and Tyler. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle Stoinski, and his sister, Ernestine Purdy.

 Kathy Veronica Shaw

    Kathy Veronica (Hundzinski) Shaw, 61 of Fowlerville, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2026. She was born on June 24, 1964 in Detroit to Ronald Hundzinski and Constance (Valik) Hundzinski. Kathy was the fourth oldest of six children and the third oldest of five sisters. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in teaching and dedicated her life to helping others. But her greatest passion was always animals, especially horses and dogs. From her teenage years on, they were a huge part of who she was. Thanks to her Uncle Bob, she received her first horse, beginning a lifelong love affair with horses that never faded.

    She married the love of her life, Joseph Shaw, on August 12, 1989 in Southfield, Michigan. They lived for a while in Lathrup Village and when an opportunity to move to a more rural area and have horses in their backyard came up, they moved to Fowlerville in 1995. Kathy was a school teacher in the Waterford school district for 25 years teaching second grade and all grades up to middle school. When she retired from teaching, she began a second career managing the Dover Saddlery shop in Brighton as a way to pay for her addiction to horses. She had recently returned to showing her horses, and was training one of them for the Grand Prix level in Dressage. Getting back into the show arena brought her so much happiness.

    Kathy will be missed by her husband of 36 years, Joe; her sons Geran and Corbyn; her siblings Ronald, Cindy, Sandy, Kim & Sue; and her many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Constance.

    Our hearts are broken, and there are no words to express how much she will be missed. We will remember her kind heart, her love of animals, her dedication to her family, and the joy she found doing what she loved. Rest peacefully, Kathy. You were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

 Fowlerville Community Schools request for renewal of non-homestead operational millage on August 4th ballot

    Fowlerville Community Schools (FCS) will have a non-homestead operational millage renewal proposal on the Tuesday, August 4th Michigan Primary ballot. This is a renewal of an existing millage, not a new tax, and would continue funding for the district's day-to-day operations for four years (2027–2030).

    Under Michigan law, this millage applies only to non-homestead properties, such as commercial businesses, rental properties, and second homes. It does not apply to primary residences.

    If approved, the renewal would continue generating approximately $3.78 million annually to help fund operating expenses, including employee salaries, instructional materials, transportation, utilities, and building maintenance. If the renewal is not approved, the district would lose this local funding, as the State of Michigan does not replace it.

    Furthermore, FCS Superintendent Matt Stuard, as well as Assistant Superintendent of Academics Adva Ringle, will host two coffee-hour chats to answer questions related to the millage and provide district updates.  Wayne Lawrence Bowers

    His Legacy… Wayne Lawrence Bowers, surrounded by family, wrapped up 89 years of tinkering, fixing, hunting, driving, and never paying someone else to do a job he could do himself on June 26, 2026.

    Born on May 20, 1937, in Durand, Michigan, to Lawrence and Thelma (Conrad) Bowers. Wayne met the love of his life, Doris Schultz, in 8th grade, and they married on Valentine’s Day in 1959 at First Methodist Church in Fowlerville. It was one of the best decisions he ever made, a partnership that lasted 67 years.

    Wayne proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958. His military service was a source of pride throughout his life.

    Wayne wasn’t one to waste words. He let his actions do the talking. Whether he was helping family, fixing a neighbor’s car, or lending a hand, his quiet compassion spoke louder than any speech ever could.

    For 40 years, Wayne traveled around the Midwest as an owner-operator truck driver, hauling goods from one destination to the next. Once the truck was parked at home, he spent much of his time outdoors or in the garage. Hunting season, snowmobiles, ATV rides with the family, and just about anything that involved fresh air made for a good day.

    His favorite hobby, however, was restoring classic cars. He owned five cherished classics, including a 1937 Ford four-door sedan and a 1937 Chevrolet pickup. To Wayne, the fun wasn’t just owning them; it was restoring them to their former glory. One bolt, one part, and one Saturday afternoon at a time. His garage became a gathering place where the family learned about engines, patience, and the satisfaction found in working with their hands.

    If your vehicle had a strange noise, there was a good chance Wayne could fix it. He proudly served as the unofficial family mechanic for many years.

    Wayne also had a soft spot for animals, especially his beloved dogs, Tess and Cash, who were never far from his side.

    More than anything else, Wayne leaves behind a family that was built with the same care and dedication he gave to everything else in life. Though he may have been a man of few words, the life he lived said more than enough.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Thelma Bowers, and brother, Basil Bowers.

    His Farewell… Wayne’s family and friends gathered from 3 PM to 8 PM, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes in Fowlerville, Michigan. His Community Farewell was held at 11 AM, Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Borek Jennings Funeral Homes in Fowlerville (Gathering began at 10 AM). Martin “Rusty” Wakeman served as celebrant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and K-9’s for Warriors.  Chelsea House Orchestra to perform at Williamston Concert Series on July 9th

    The Chelsea House Orchestra returns to the McCormick Park bandshell on Thursday July 9 - 7pm for the Williamston Concert Series. A fan favorite, the energetic group from Chelsea High School brings strings, rhythms and celtic drums for an highly entertaining concert. CHO completed a tour of the British Isles last year, and a Michigan "Up North" concert tour this summer.

    CHO is sponsored by Ray and Ann Lemmen. Concessions by The Williamston Area Senior Center. 2026 Patrons include the Williamston Rotary, Custom Built Design and Remodelling, Granger Waste Services and Xfinity/Comcast.

    Concerts are in the Downtown Social District for purchase of adult beverages.

 Reach Out barn at Oak Grove United Methodist Church open for summer

    The Reach Out Barn at Oak Grove United Methodist Church is open for the summer! Come see what we have for sale. The resale barn is located in the back left corner of the church’s parking lot. Income from sales goes to Love INC to help their clients. Barn hours are Mondays and Thursdays: 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. and Wednesdays and Fridays: 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Come and shop for treasures or necessities! Livingston County Wildlife & Conservations holding Meat Bingo

    Livingston County Wildlife & Conservation Club's Meat Bingo will be held on July 10th. It's on the 2nd Friday of every month. Doors open at 5:30. Big Red Barrel will be at Recycle Livingston in Howell on July 11th

    The Big Red Barrel will be at Recycle Livingston in Howell from 9am-1pm on Saturday, July 11th, 2026. We will be collecting sharps and medication. This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication. The Big Red Barrel Project is part of Livingston County Community Alliance

Ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for new Fire & Ice Depot District July 13th

    The City of Howell will host a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Fire & Ice Depot District on Monday, July 13, at 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend the celebration, which will highlight the community’s newest destination: an ice-skating pavilion. The ribbon-cutting event will include refreshments, guided tours of the new pavilion, photo opportunities, and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the project's vision, explore the new space, and hear from community leaders who are bringing the Fire & Ice Depot District to life.

 Webberville United Methodist Church serving Chicken Dinner on July 18th

    The Webberville United Methodist Church, located 4215 E. Holt Rd., is serving a ‘drive through’ Chicken Dinner on Saturday, July 18th. The dinner includes two pieces oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, green beans, corn casserole, coleslaw, roll and cookies. All for $12. Dinner served 5 to 7 pm or until we run out.
