Frances Ella Benjamin Cain
Frances Ella Benjamin Cain (98) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in Hilliard, Ohio where she lived for the past 4+ years with her daughter and son-in-law. She was born June 26, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio but was moved to Michigan where she resided most of her life.
Preceded in death by the love of her life Charles N Benjamin (married October 13, 1940) and remarried Charles E Cain November 18, 1972. Also preceded by her oldest son Raymond E Benjamin.
Franny was the Handy Township Treasurer for several years and worked in Woods Drug Store over 30 years. She chaired many school and government elections. She graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1940 and had planned to attend her 80th class reunion last June but due to the pandemic it had to be cancelled. Franny loved to play cards and read books. She and Charlie wintered in Texas and eventually became residents at Fiesta Village in Mission, Texas. (1733 Mission). She was very active in the park and treasured all the wonderful friends she made there.
She is survived by her children: Charlene (Stanley) Cameron, Hilliard, Ohio and Ernest Charles Benjamin, Las Vegas, Nevada. Four Grandchildren: Todd (Sandra) Cameron, Dublin, Ohio, Tonya (Gary) Curry, Hilliard, Ohio, Tim (Terra) Cameron, Plain City, Ohio and Troy (Bobbie) Cameron, Plain City, Ohio. Eleven great-grandchildren who she adored and many loving nieces and nephews. Franny is now home with the Lord, reunited with Dad and all those who went before her. She will be greatly missed by many.
In her memory contributions may be made to Fowlerville Alumni Class of 1940 for the scholarship fund.
