Jerome Lynn Stawara
Jerome Lynn Stawara, 86 of Fowlerville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, on Friday, August 28, 2020. His loving wife of 64 years was by his side. Jerry was born March 12, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank and Stella Stawara. He married his life-long love, Patricia Ann Stawara (Tisie), on July 6, 1956. They immediately began building their family and future together. Over the course of 7 years, Jerry and Patricia were blessed with five sons.
Jerry is a U.S. Army veteran who served 2 years as a medical corpsman. After his discharge in 1958, he became employed as an insurance investigator until his retirement in 1999.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Bernadette and Norbert, and his nephew James Stawara.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia; their five sons, Jerome Jr. (Kathy) Stawara, Timothy (Pamela) Stawara, Patrick (Jan) Stawara, Chris (Rachel) Stawara, Gregory (Kimberly) Stawara; and his siblings, Frank Stawara, Leonard Stawara, Mark (Kathy) Stawara and Patricia Kobak. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who will forever remember their Grandpa as a lighthearted, joking man, who had a song for everything.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his large family in which his world revolved around. He saw the importance of unity in family and instilled that in his offspring who are extremely close and active in each other’s lives today. His memory will live on through these generations as they continue to kindle the tight-knit relationships he helped form between everyone.
With strict safety regulations in place due to the pandemic, the family has decided to postpone a public memorial service in Jerry's honor until further notice. They thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this time and look forward to a future date when we can all gather to celebrate Jerry's life.
