St. John's Lutheran Church to host special gatherings for community

While the Church in every place has had to persevere, re-think, create and, most of all, have faith since March 17, 2020, God has been gracious and continued to provide what has been needed.

St. John's Lutheran Church in Fowlerville continues to live life together: online, in small gatherings, in prayer and praise. Ministry to neighbors and friends continues as well with our Personal Needs Pantry and LETS Bus Token transportation ministry. As a partner church with Love INC of Greater Livingston, we continue to serve neighbors and in order to keep stocked with the resources needed, we invite the community to join us for a special gathering.

"Mr. B," Doug Burnie, will share corn dogs and ice cream on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church parking lot. You'll find us on the corner of Church and Maple Streets, one block south of Grand River Avenue. Our address is 132 South Benjamin Street. Free-will donations will be accepted and all proceeds will go toward this important ministry. Carry out and limited seating is available.

The congregation has been blessed to spend a few Sunday mornings worshiping at the Fowlerville Community Park as well. This will take place on two more occasions: Sept. 20 and Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m. at the large pavilion. Bring a lawn chair and dress according to the weather. Face masks are required, and the event is limited to 100 people.

St. John's is also hosting a new, All-Church Sunday School. While a smaller group will gather in person, families and individuals can also join us through ZOOM to experience this study on The Beatitudes as found in the gospel of Matthew. All ages---kids through adults---will come together with small group discussion, some hands-on activity and faith building. Registration is needed so we can supply all participants with study packets. Please contact us at 517-223-9108 to register.

We ask you to pray with us for God to bring the COVID-19 crisis to a conclusion and to sustain unity and peace in our community, nation and world. You can find us at St. John's Lutheran Fowlerville on YouTube, on Facebook and at www.stjohnsfowlerville.org.
