Webberville High to hold Graduation Ceremony this Thursday, May 23rd
Webberville High School will hold its Graduation Ceremony this Thursday, May 23rd, starting 7 p.m. at the Gregory Glover Track & Field Facility (weather permitting). If inclement weather occurs, the event will take place in the Spartan Center.
Thirty-five seniors from the Class of 2024 are expected to receive their diplomas.
The ceremony begins with the processional, followed by the high school band and choir performing the National Anthem. A Welcoming Address will then be offered by Madeline Derian, the Class President. She will also serve as the emcee.
Derian will also give the Valedictorian Address, while Rebekah Phillips will offer the Salutatorian Address. Both the high school band and choir will peform musical pieces during the program.
The guest speaker is Joshua Rockey, owner of the local business Z Solutions and chair of the Webberville Downtown Development Authority.
A Recognition of Seniors, listing their respective awards, will take place as well. Finally, diplomas will then be given out by members of the board of education, Superintendent Andrew Smith, and Principal Jeanette Kierman.
Class Advisors are Tanja Scifers and Suzanne Cloudman, who are both educators at Webberville Community Schools. Suzanne’s son is among the graduates.
The Class Motto is: “Our lives are before us, our pasts are behind us, our memories are forever within us.” Class flower: Tulip, Class color: Maroon; and Class song: ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) by Green Day .
