Fowlerville High Jazz Band to kick off ‘Music at the Park’ schedule May 28th
‘Music at the Park’ begins its schedule of outdoor shows this Tuesday, May 28, with a performance by the Fowlerville High School Jazz Band starting at 7 p.m. at the Centennial Park Gazebo (next to the EMS station).
The band is led by William Vliek, the high school band director, and the ensemble will be playing an assortment of jazz standards and contemorary pieces.
Next up in the June series at the Centennial Park will be Velocity Shift set for Tuesday, June 4. The three-member band plays classic rock from the ‘60s thru the ‘90s. One of the members is Mark Gastambide who was the music teacher at Smith Elementary for 30 years prior to retiring two years ago. He’s looking forward to coming back and playing for the Fowlerville folks again. The show starts at 7 p.m. and there is a rain date of Thursday, June 6th.
