Donations being accepted for Grandma’s Attic Sale at fairgrounds

It is again time for the Livingston Centre Historic Village annual Grandma's Attic Sale. Once again, the members of the Historic Society ask for the support of the community.

Your generous donations of clean and usable items will be accepted during Drop-off hours at the Fairgrounds beginning Sat., 5/11, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.. There will be no drop-off times on Mother's Day, 5/12. Drop-offs resume Mon., 5/ 13 and continue through Wed., 5/15, same times. Items can be brought to the Commercial Building near the front entrance of The Fowlerville Family Fairgrounds.

As you continue spring cleaning and organizing, please remember the Historic Village, located there inside the Fairgrounds. Your generosity will help restore and preserve Livingston County's history.

Accepted items include smaller furniture (please, no sofas nor overstuffed chairs), clothing and jewelry, kitchen and household, toys, tools and hardware items, fabrics and crafts, stationary, books and dvd's (please no VHS tapes), smaller sporting goods, collectables and vintage items. The historic society appreciates your donations of good condition, usable items; please make sure all pieces and parts are included, and that everything works.

Unfortunately, the following items will NOT be acceped: large and heavy furniture, TV cabinets/consoles and monitors, large exercise and sports equipment, computers and other electronics, medical or handicap bathroom equipment, mattresses and large headboards, or food.

The Grandma's Attic Sale will be held in the Commercial Building near the front entrance of the Fowlerville Fairgrounds on Thurs. and Fri, May 16 and May 17 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and will conclude on Saturday, May 18, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. No entrance fee and there is a lot of free parking. Items will be sold for reasonable donations during the 3-day sale and all proceeds go to the Historic Village building projects, maintenance, preservation and restoration.

Volunteers are needed for all days, for both set-up and during the sale. It's a great opportunity to help the Historic Village and to meet other community members, or even to log community service hours. The Historic Society will meet (the first Tuesday monthly meeting) Tues., May 7th, 11:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Fowlerville to make final plans for the sale.

Anyone interested in helping may contact Erin through Facebook/Livingston Centre Historical Village. For more information, email LCHV2023@gmail.com or call the Fowlerville Family Fair Office, 517-223-8186.
