Emilie Ida Hogg
Emilie Ida Hogg, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 8th 2024 at the age of 95 surrounded by her children.
Emilie was born at home in Bruce Crossing, MI on October 1st 1928 to Julius and Helene Popke. Emilie will be remembered for her love of Jesus, family and friends along with her warmth, generosity and hospitality. She dedicated her life to her family, always there with a listening ear, encouragement and a prayer. Emilie taught all her children (as well as neighbor and 4-H children) how to cook, can, sew, knit and crochet.
Emilie is survived by her children Elizabeth (BJ), John (Bill), Gordon, Emilie (Sue), Carl and Mary; daughters-in-law Phayne and Cheryline; grandchildren Angela, Hayley, James, Jordan, Tim, Steven, Stephanie, Bobby, George, Lance and Justin; 18great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jean Popke; and many nieces and nephews.
Emilie was preceded in death by her loving husband George, daughter Helen, son George, son-in-law Jake Garrido, parents Julius and Helene, brothers Paul (Joy) and Carl.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Diane Greble will be held on June 29th 2024 at 11:00 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fowlerville, MI with visitation at 10:00. There will be a light luncheon after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fowlerville, MI, a cause close to Emilie’s heart, or the Family Impact Center in Fowlerville, MI.
