James Christopher Roman
Mr. James Christopher Roman, born on November 29, 1936, has passed away at age 87 on May 15, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Lillian M Roman. James was orphaned as a child at Sarah Fisher Home in Detroit and spent most of his youth in Ida, Michigan, which is where he and Lillian were married. He served in the U.S. Navy and later retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years as a welder while living in Dearborn Heights, Michigan.
He was a devout Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He was a resident of Manistee, Michigan when he passed away and his family wishes to recognize his amazing and loving caregivers for the meticulous care and support they provided.
James is survived by his children: Lynne Overberg (Dale), Bradley Roman (Laura), Connie Powors (Jeffrey), and five grandchildren: Kristen, Kelsey, Connor, Elizabeth and Katherine.
A Funeral Mass was being held at St. Agnes Parish at 855 East Grand River Avenue in Fowlerville, Michigan on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. until Funeral time. Burial followed the services at Mt. Olivet Cemetery next to the church.
