 Ruby Lee Hale

Ruby Lee (Lloyd) Hale, 81, was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and changed her citizenship from this earth to her Heavenly home on April 15, 2024. Ruby (“Liz”) was born October 9, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Walter and Ruby (Merrow) Lloyd. Following graduation from Fowlerville High School (Class of 1960), she met and married Allen E. Hale on June 30, 1962 at Cohoctah United Brethren Church.

Liz attended Beauty College where she learned to be a dedicated hairdresser and cosmetologist. She opened her own Beauty Shop which she ran from home. She had been both an avid golfer AND bowler, being a league member of both sports for many years. Other hobbies and interests that she was active in over the years included gardening, crafting, sewing, clowning with her husband, reading Amish novels, and camping/vacationing with family.

She had a big heart and loved people, especially children. Besides being a Sunday school teacher for many years, Liz became a 4-H leader, and was active as a part of the Fowlerville Alumni Committee.

She was probably most proud of the years that she babysat neighborhood children who became extensions of her own family. They, as well as her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were the apple of her eye.

She is survived by her four children: sons Tim “Tucker” (Geoff Boden), and Scott (Dana) Hale and daughters Angela (Rick) Grooms, and Melissa (Larry) Houck. Ruby was richly blessed with 3 beloved granddaughters: Elizabeth, Courtney, and Shannon, and 2 great-grandchildren: OrahLynn and Easton. Liz’s sisters Linda and Peggy, and brothers Walter Jr. and Robert also survive.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband Allen, both parents, and a sister, Marie.

A Funeral Service dedicated to celebrating Liz’s life was taking place on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Fowlerville United Brethren Church (9300 W. Grand River Ave, Fowlerville, MI 48836). Visitation was from 10 – 11 a.m., with the Service immediately following. Pastor Julie Priestley was officiating. Following the service, Ruby was to be interred at her final resting place next to her beloved husband at Greenwood Cemetery, with a luncheon back at the church immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be dedicated to the Fowlerville Fire Department or Fowlerville UB Church.

Today, we are confident by the fact that Ruby is beholding the face of Jesus Christ and enthusiastically singing, …” Yet as for me, I KNOW that my Redeemer LIVES…” (Job 19:25) May you who knew Liz reflect on the gifts and laughter God enabled her to add to your lives and may those gifts prompt you to recognize your need to surrender your hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. Soli Deo Gloria! (“to God alone be the Glory!”)

Arrangements entrusted to Herrmann Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
