Charles Jacob Vermillion
Charles Jacob Vermillion passed away peacefully in Fowlerville Michigan on April 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in White Oak Michigan on May 2, 1940 to Vera Helen (Worthington) Vermillion and John Henry Vermillion. He was raised in Michigan and Ohio, graduating from high school in Carrolton Ohio.
Charlie joined the Army after graduation and served 4 years. He worked as a mechanic and was stationed in White Sands New Mexico. He also served in Korea.
He married Frances Charlene Ervin on May 27, 1966. Together they raised 4 children: Dub (Dee) Toddy, Don (Karen) Toddy, Helen Turner and Tammy Vermillion.
He was a hardworking and gentle father, retiring from Western Wheel after 29 years of service. He enjoyed building things, country music, traveling back roads and western movies. He also liked traveling with the boys, he spent hours looking at the Atlas to see where they had been and where they should go next.
He was preceded in death by his, parents, wife Frances Charlene, brothers Norman, Ed, Bud Mike and Don, sister Ida and granddaughter Jessica Toddy
Charlie also leaves behind 9 granddaughters, 1 grandson, and 6 great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation is Sunday, April 21, 4:00-7:00 pm. Funeral will be Monday, April 22, at 11:00 am at Herrmann Funeral Home. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Lakeside Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to: VFW Post 6464 and the Women’s Auxillary.
