Bettyann I. Deisler
On Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 85 years old, God granted her final prayer when he said, "Bettyann I. (Reichert) Deisler, it is time to come home." Betty, as she was known to most of her friends, gladly held God's hand, went to heaven to be with her Lord, and reunited with her husband, Howard, whom she missed for 21 years. She peacefully made this final journey surrounded by her family.
Bettyann was born on November 4, 1937, in Detroit, MI, to Henry and Eleanora (Paetsch) Reichert and was blessed with one brother, Henry M. (Hank) Reichert. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Denby High School in 1956. Her cousin, Clarence, introduced her to the love of her life, Howard Deisler when they visited her parents while on leave from the Navy. Howard and Betty exchanged letters and fell very much in love. On October 19, 1957, Howard and Bettyann exchanged vows and were married in Detroit, MI. After living on Howard's family's farm, and the city girl learned farming life, they moved nearby to the first of several homes they would share.
In March 1961, they were blessed with a daughter, and in July 1966, Howard received a wonderful birthday present when their son was born.
Bettyann worked at Lee's IGA (Feldpausch) in Williamston as a cashier and bookkeeper until their son was born. After both children were in school, Bettyann volunteered at Webberville school until becoming a part-time cook/kitchen aid. She retired in 1995 to travel with Howard in their fifth wheel. They spent many winters in Florida and Arizona visiting family until Howard passed away in 2001. She was a member of the Rumpus Club for many years and part of the ladies' group, in addition to being a Sunday School teacher at Memorial Lutheran Church in Williamston. Bettyann loved reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in her spare time.
Bettyann is missed by her children: Nora (Jeffrey) Stanton and Scott (Sheri) Deisler. Grandchildren: Gretchen Stanton, Chelsie (Mark) Eldridge, Angel Baldwin, Tyler LaMar, Hunter LaMar, Rebecca Harper, and Jacob Harper. Great grandchildren: Colton, Bianca, Ellianah, Addison, Wyatt, and Beckett. Goddaughter, Ann (David) Klebba; also, brother-in-law Richard (Mary) Deisler, sisters-in-law Patricia Deisler and Wava (Dan) Peterson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband Howard, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A funeral for Bettyann is scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 1020 W. Grand River Avenue, Williamston, MI. Visitation is from 1 pm-3 pm, with the funeral service at 3 pm. Burial is in Rowley Cemetery at the corner of Rowley Road and M-52, Williamston, MI. A dinner at the church will follow the burial service. Due to allergies, the family requests NO LIVE FLOWERS. In lieu of flowers, you may make memorial contributions in Bettyann's name to Memorial Lutheran Church.
