A Christmas Carol comes to St. John's Lutheran Church        Dec. 18th

The gift of one of the most beloved Christmas stories of all time is yours this year in Fowlerville.

On Sunday, Dec. 18, at 2:00 pm, join The Christmas Carol Players, an experienced troupe of local community theatre actors, for a radio-style presentation of one of the most iconic, seasonal stories of all time—A Christmas Carol. Enjoy meeting once again the beloved characters of Scrooge, Marley, Bob Cratchet and, of course, Tiny Tim.

The performance will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

A Christmas Carol has a special place in the hearts of people world-wide," said the director John Slemp. "This classic tale of redemption and forgiveness defines the spirit of the season like no other and the Christmas Carol Players are looking forward to performing it in Fowlerville this year."

The format of the performance is modeled after the annual performances of A Christmas Carol broadcast during the golden age of radio.

"We love this radio inspired format because it can be performed almost anywhere, which is very important, given most of our actors are busy as cast members of other shows, too,” Slemp said. “Actors take on multiple roles and, with scripts in hand, use simple costume pieces to reflect each role they perform. The experience is much like being an audience member at a radio studio."

The event will be hosted by St. John's Lutheran Church, 132 S. Benjamin Street, Fowlerville. And in the spirit of the season, the presentation will be FREE OF CHARGE; however, donations will be graciously accepted to benefit The Family Impact Center of Fowlerville. Questions can be directed to the St. John's Lutheran Church office at 517-223-9108.
