Gary Michael Heilner
Gary Michael Heilner, age 65 of Fowlerville, passed away peacefully at home on October 23, 2022. He was born November 5, 1956 in Detroit, MI to Howard and Phylllis (Haviland) Heilner. Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Darlene (Musolf) Heilner, his children: April (Dell Ott) Heilner, Zachary (Lindsay) Heilner, Justin Heilner, Ryan Heilner and Rachael (Chris) King, as well as 5 siblings: John (Rita) Heilner, Linda Niendorf, Tom (Barbara) Heilner, Robert Heilner, and Deborah (Steven) Heacock. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren: Saige, Jaide, Delton Jr (DJ), Dylan, Devin, Jaeden and Jax and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Phyllis Heilner.
Gary was a truck driver for almost 40 years and worked hard to support his family. He always knew how to fix anything and was willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed family outings, fishing on Lake Erie, riding his motorcycle, attending auctions, dancing when the right music came along and giving out lots of free advice. He always told you what you NEEDED to hear not what you wanted to hear. He had a heart of gold. Once you met him, you never forgot who he was. He will be greatly missed by his family and in our hearts forever.
Visitation was held at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 3:00 – 5:00pm, with the funeral service taking place immediately afterwards. Additional visitation hours were held 5:30 – 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
