Gary Lee Massey
Gary Lee Massey, 62, passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at U of M Hospital with his family by his side. Gary suffered several health issues over the last few years, which he bravely fought every day. After undergoing triple bypass surgery, his fight became too much. He is now dancing with Jesus and no longer in pain.
Gary was born on May 21, 1960 in Detroit to John and Mary Johnson. Gary was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary, father-in-law Ronald, step father-in-law Maynard, brothers Bob and Keith, sisters Sharon, Debbie and Lisa, sister-in-law Lori, niece Doreen, as well as very dear friends Joe & Carol Burns.
Gary is survived by his loving wife and lifelong partner of 40 years, Robin Massey, two amazing sons Gary (Bear) Massey and William (Wild Man) Massey & partner Shelby Gregg, one incredible daughter Kayla (Kay Kay) Simpson & husband Anthony, as well as his sister Linda Smith & husband John. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Ruthann Bigelow, two brothers-in-law Ron Blais (Jackie) and Rick Blais (Ed), sister-in-law Ruth (Blais) Neal, along with several nieces and nephews, many who considered Gary their favorite uncle.
Gary will be missed by so many, most of all his family who loved him dearly. He brought so much joy and laughter to his wife and kids, and all who had the pleasure to know him. Life will never be the same. He loved us all selflessly and always made sure we were taken care of. We will carry him closely in our hearts and welcome the day we are reunited in Heaven. Gary was a friend to many and loved by all!!!
Funeral will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 1 p.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home, Fowlerville, MI. Graveside service and luncheon will follow. Arrangements entrusted to Herrmann Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
