David Clarence Jones, Sr.
David Jones, age 78, passed away at his home on Friday, April 15, 2022. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 9, 1943. Dave was the oldest of 11 children born to Lucy and Clarence Jones.
David and Paula Lee met in 1964 and were married January 23, 1965 (57 years). They moved to Fowlerville, Michigan in 1974. They had two sons: David Jones, Jr. and Scott Jones. David Jr. died 40 years ago in a vehicle accident on October 17, 1982 at Parkers Corners in Iosco Township. They have a grandson, Logan C. Jones, age 16, and granddaughter, Kayla M. Jones, age 12.
Dave worked for General Motors at Detroit Diesel in Detroit and GM Tech Center in Warren. He drove a lot of miles each day, enjoying the drive because he listened to his music. He loved watching movies—old and new. He retired from General Motors in 1998 at the age of 55 years.
He is survived by his wife Paula Jones; son Scott Jones; grandchildren Logan C. Jones and Kayla M. Jones; his siblings, Sharon Lane, Donald Jones (Karen), Laura Dumas (Bob), Bruce Jones (Jerry), Darlene Cadeau (Bill), Gerald Jones, Dale Jones (Jenny), and Harry Jones (Lori). He has many nieces and nephews as well as cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lucy, father Clarence, sister Linda, and brother Glenn.
A church service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 132 S. Benjamin St., Fowlerville. A gathering for everyone will be held at his home after the service. Please stop by.
