Livingston Centre Historic Village preparing for 150th anniversary of depot

The Livingston Centre Historic Village will be the site of a 150th anniversary celebration of the Pere Marquette Depot, originally built in downtown Howell. It was moved to the Fowlerville Fairgrounds in 1996, where it has since stood at the north end of the Historic Village.

In preparation for this celebration, a work party is planned for Saturday, 4/23 and Sunday, 4/24, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Primarily, painting, and some repairs will be going on both days, weather permitting.

The committee invites and welcomes volunteers as well as supply donations. Volunteers can work any time throughout the day, on one day or the other--or both. Supplies needed include paint and supplies, including brushes, scrapers, tape, and a few basic tools. This is a great opportunity for local groups' service project.

More information on the celebration will be provided in your News & Views in the coming weeks. Questions can be directed to committee chair, Matt D. at 517-294-6710.
