John B. McClain
Mr. John B. McClain (98) passed peacefully into the loving arms of the Lord surrounded by family on April 1, 2022. He was born to Junius and Sudie McClain on July 21, 1923 in Iredell County NC, where he met and married the love of his life the late Frances Lorene Cornelius. They were married on May 15, 1943 and had been married for 75 years.
He was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Johnnie Eugene in 2009 and Thomas Stanley in 2021, grandson Christopher Knight Jr., and 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are 2 sons: Donald (Connie) of Salisbury, NC and Kenneth of Fowlerville, MI; 4 grandsons: Kenneth, Jonathon (Robin), Eric (Heather), and Joshua (girlfriend Lacie); 2 granddaughters: Brittaney Hobbs and Katie Morphis; 10 great grandchildren: Lydia, Adriana, Jacob (Maranda), Andrew, Lillie, Ryker, Cameron, Kylie, Farah, and Sydney; and 3 great great grandchildren: Athena, Nolan, and Emmersyn.
John served his country with pride. He began in the Army common core and moved to the Marines based on Parris Island, NC during WWII from 1943-1946. John later became a police officer for Howell, MI. He worked for GM at Buick Motor Division in Flint, MI for 33 years. John loved the Lord and was a member of First Baptist Church of Fowlerville. John loved spending time with his family and going places.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 5th, 4:00-7:00pm at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville. Funeral services took place on Wednesday, April 6th, at 11:00am at First Baptist Church, 214 S. Grand River Ave. Fowlerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Herrmann Funeral Home.
