Mary Jane Reilly
Mary Jane Reilly, age 100, passed away peacefully at her home in Howell on January 26, 2022, with her family at her side. She was born January 12, 1922 to the late James and Marie (Ehlers) Dicks. Loving wife and mother to the late Eugene Reilly, son Patrick Reilly and daughter Jane Marie Reilly. She is survived by son Robert Reilly, daughter-in-law Lorraine, grandson David Reilly, step grandchildren Raymond, Lyle, Rhonda and Debbie. Eight great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.
Mary Jane was the oldest of eight siblings that she cherished and loved to spend time with. Brother Buddy and sisters Helen, Dorothy, Margaret, Nancy, Cecelia, Betty and Francis who all preceded her in death. Also, many nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws and friends.
Mary Jane worked in the dietary department at McPherson Hospital for many years, retiring at age 62. Shortly after Mary Jane took a job with the Livingston County Press binary department until she retired at the age of 75.
Mary Jane was a kind, loving person with the patience of a saint who loved people. She welcomed family and friends to her farm to spend long summer days and weeks to play and enjoy the lake. Many fond memories were made by all with her support. She loved shopping trips and dinners out with her sisters and family. Best of all were trips to the Casino from time to time to test her luck. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.
Visitation was held at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Herrmann Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
