Velna Hoag
Velna Hoag was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world to her everlasting home with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family and Pastor on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the age of 97.
She was born to Frank and Stella Seile on August 22, 1924. Velna was a waitress at local restaurants before owning her own restaurant, the Dew Drop Inn. Later she went to work for the State of Michigan where she eventually retired.
Velna married Lafayette Hoag and they had 5 children: Donald, Sharlon, Carol, Ronald and Mary.
Velna loved spending time with her family and serving others through church. She was a kind and beautiful soul that loved everyone she met. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Velna was preceded in death by her husband Lafayette Hoag, daughter Shar Peters and granddaughter Lisa Borchard. She is survived by Donald (Ruth) Hoag, Carol Hawley, Ronald (Connie) Hoag and Mary (Harry) Fields. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 36 great great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 11am, Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Memorial Lutheran Church in Williamston with visitation one-hour prior, starting at 10:00 AM. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Fowlerville. Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, from 4-8pm at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville
