Gordon “Gordie” Hetrick
October 8th 1946 – February 14th 2022
Gordon “Gordie” Hetrick passed away at his home in Owosso MI., at the age of 75. A graduate of Fowlerville High School in 1964, where he earned All-League titles in football, basketball, and baseball. He was also a sprinter in track. He played basketball for Lake Superior College before transferring to Alma College. While at Alma College he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and education. He was named All American defensive back in football, along with countless awards in football, basketball, baseball and track. He went on to start All-American Concrete with his friend Dennis.
Gordie continued to play and coach sports his entire life, winning countless national championships and was inducted into the Michigan Fast-Pitch Hall of Fame as both a player and coach.
Gordie was preceded in death by his parents Paul Hetrick Sr. and Marcella (Furmanek) Hetrick. He leaves behind his children and grandchildren: Lindsay (Zachary) Heilner and their sons Dylan & Jax and Lacey Hetrick and her sons Brady & Presley, along with countless friends and family members and teammates that they played with and coached. He was one of a kind and loved by many. He had the biggest heart and a smile to match.
