Howell Nature Center is holding first ever ‘Green Friday’ on Nov. 27
The Howell Nature Center (HNC) is excited to announce their first ever ‘Green Friday’ on Nov. 27, an outdoor, family-fun alternative to ‘Black Friday.’ This event, running 10:00am-6:00pm, will offer beautiful fresh Christmas Trees for sale, wildlife meet-and-greets, a chance to explore the Wild Wonders Wildlife Park with over 70 animal friends, and play in Alexandria's NatureScape. There will also be zip lining available from 10:00am-2:00pm for an additional cost. All activities will occur outside on HNC's 230 acres, with plenty of space for families to socially distance from one another.
Admission into Green Friday is only $6 per adult, $4 per child, with infants 2 and under free. HNC members enjoy free admission all year long, including this event. Zip lining is an additional $20 per person, ages 5+. Park admission is not needed to enter the Christmas Tree lot, with sales going on daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm until December 13th or while supplies last. To register for this event, visit howellnaturecenter.org to enjoy their contactless reservation system.
As a nonprofit, all funds raised during this event will help support HNC's operations, which includes caring for the non-releasable permanent wildlife residents and the injured or orphaned patients in their Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic.
This event is part of their ‘November & December to Remember’ winter event series. As believers in the true meaning of the holidays, which is time spent with loved ones, they have developed outdoor activities that are fun for the whole family. Given this tumultuous time of year, they feel the need to provide a safe, outdoor space for families to Heal, Grow, and Be Wild. Be sure to check out the full calendar of events at their website, howellnaturecenter.org.
