FDL Response to New COVID Emergency Order
In response to Emergency Order MCL 333.2253 issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Fowlerville District Library will be open by appointment only and will continue to offer curbside service during our regular hours. The use of our curbside is encouraged. Each appointment will be limited to thirty minutes by one household at a time and can be arranged by calling or emailing the library. Masks will be required. We will also be offering print by email which can be picked up through curbside or in our Entryway. Your first ten copies each day are FREE. Internet is always available for patron use in our parking lot and side yard. Please continue to use the book dropbox outside the building or leave your items in the library lobby, when available.

How to Use Curbside Service
Step 1: You can make requests: by calling the Library directly, emailing us or make your holds through the FDL’s card catalog (Max 10 items) --Notsure what you would like to read? Use our reader’s advisory at the desk, they can help! All you need is to give them a subject, author, or genre, and they will do the rest.
Step 2: One hour after your request has been made, please come to the Library and park in the curbside pickup designated parking located in front of the side yard.
Step 3: From your car, call the Library and someone will come out with your requested materials.
Step 4: Please present your library card or driver's license and your materials will be given to you.

All programs require registration and is done by sending a Facebook Personal Message to the Library or by emailing to info@fowlervillelibrary.org, unless otherwise indicated. Zoom invitations will be sent out the day before the program date.

Phone a Story and First Chapter Fridays: Available 24/7
Preschool - 12th Graders -Call 517-858-2700 anytime to hear a full children's story, or a sample of a J Fiction/Chapter book or YA/Teen novel. Recordings are changed every week.

Reading to Bosco Through Zoom: Temporarily paused until further notice –He will be back soon.
All Ages- Read to Bosco on Zoom! You can now reserve a time for your child to read to Fowlerville District Library's therapy dog! Each child will be given a 15 minute time slot to read to Bosco and must be preregistered. Registration is needed each week and spots are limited. Zoom invites will be sent out on Fridays. This event reoccurs every Monday.

Dungeons and Dragons for Beginners: Continuing Thursdays at 2:30pm through December 17th–via –Zoom
6th-12th Graders - Are you new to the game Dungeons and Dragons? Come meet with the Library and friends on Zoom to learn the basics to play, how to fill out your character sheet, rules, and to play a few short adventures. Register to secure your Zoom link through Facebook PM with your email address or info@fowlervillelibrary.org. This group is held on Thursdays, when school is in session.

Adult Holiday Craft: Thursday, December 3rd, at 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm via—Zoom
Adults-Join the library on Zoom to learn and have fun making a lifelike Craft Crush-Felt Succulent Kit. We will socialize while creating eighteen realistic, felt succulents. You can keep the garden for yourself or give it as a gift. All of the supplies you need are included and sunshine is NOT required. Register in person or through curbside service with a five dollar deposit and an email address to secure your Zoom link. Zoom invites will be sent out the day before the program. Kits will be available for pick upinside the library or through curbside service starting Monday, November 30th.

Reindeer Adventures: Wednesday, December 9th, at 7 pm –Library Side Yard
Preschool – 5th Graders and Family - Follow our holiday trail through the Library's side yard to experience a magical journey filled will holiday spirit and cheer. There will be reindeer from Rooftop Landing, special giveaways, take-home crafts and activities, Santa's mailbox to send those important letters, and so much more! This year might be a little different, but there is always hope and magic, Happy Holidays! All giveaways are while supplies last and are for children 5th grade and younger. Social distancing is a must, and wearing a mask is expected. Please note that the library building will be closed, and there will be no access to the restrooms. Registration is not required for this event, but it is for Fowlerville School District residents only. The Santa letter template is available on our website or Facebook page. Please include a return address to have a reply.

Teen Holiday Party: Monday, December 14th, at 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm via—Zoom
6th Graders – 12th Graders - Join the Library and some of your friends to celebrate the holiday, spend time together, and build your own 3D Coloring Puzzle. Sign up today to participate and to receive your own Puzzle Kit to create out of an exciting assortment. You will need to have your own set of color pencils, felt tip pens, or gel pens to color in the details of your 3D puzzle, as little or as much as you would like. Puzzle kits will be available for pick up inside the Library or through curbside service starting Thursday, December 10th.

Beyond the Book Series: The Joy Luck Club: Thursday, December 17th, at 6:30 pm via—Zoom
Adults - November's selection in our "Life From Another Perspective Theme" for our Beyond the Book Group is The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. Please read the book and watch the movie at home, then meet up with friends on Zoom to discuss them both. Everyone who signs up will get an opportunity to check out the movie and watch it on their own. Registration is required with a $10 deposit and a valid email address to receive a book and a Zoom link. Registration is done in person inside or through curbside service at the Library. Books are limited and only available to one per household.

Cameron Zvara LIVE Online!: A Comedy Magic Show for Families: Tuesday, December 29th, at 11 am via—Zoom
Family - Looking for some fun during your holiday break? Do not miss your opportunity to watch the talented Magician Cameron Zvara's performance filled with comedy, tons of audience participation, and of course, mind dazzling magic tricks to delight all ages. Livingston Women’s Club Giving Tree: Monday, November 16th thru Thursday, December 3rd
Help make the holiday brighter for someone else with the Livingston Women's Club Giving Tree. With LWC we are collecting gifts for adults and children in need. Select a dove card from the display with a gift request, purchase it and bring the wrapped gift back to Library by December 3rd.

Toys for Tots Drive: Friday, November 20th thru Friday, December 16th
We are collecting toys for children and teens. Please bring your new, unwrapped toy to donate and drop it in our Toys for Tots box.

Food for Fines: Monday, November 30th thru Monday, December 14th
We are collecting nonperishable unexpired food for the Impact Center. Each item donated equals $1 in current overdue fines removed from your account, up to $5. Donations are always welcome, even if you do not owe fines! Ask at the desk for details.
