Thomas Gordon Harmon
Thomas Gordon Harmon, 76, died peacefully at his home in Gold Canyon, AZ on May 30, 2019. He graduated from Detroit University and began his career as a CPA with Arthur Anderson. He followed his passion for real estate by joining the family business and becoming the second generation Broker/Owner of Harmon Real Estate. The business was started in 1946 by his parents, Gordon & Gladys Harmon. He was an active member of the Fowlerville community having served for many years on the Downtown Development Authority, Local Development Financing Authority, and Rotary Club. With the Livingston County Association of Realtors, Tom was their 1983 President, 1980 Realtor of the Year, and received a Distinguished Service Award in 2000. He was an avid hunter on the family homestead and enjoyed fall season with his closest friends and father at the One Buck Camp in the Upper Peninsula. He frequently enjoyed fishing trips with family and friends. He was also a particularly skilled card player, and loved his NASCAR. Tom, his wife, and their beloved dog, Prince, were active NASCAR fans, visiting tracks nationwide and building a close community of friends. During his retirement, he served as Board President of his community association. Affectionately known as “Boots” by many, his characteristic cowboy boots reflected his lifelong connection with the West.
Tom is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sandra Lowry. He leaves his three children, Laurie Harmon (Randy), Paul Harmon (Heather), & Annette Reschke (Bob) and five grandchildren (Zach, Jon, Claire, Nick, Addison) as well as Sandra’s five children Zina Villagas (Matthew), Debra Villegas (Bryan), John Villegas, Pamela Garner, and Patrick Lowry, ten grandchildren (Anthony, Andrew, Luis, Matthew, Eric, Ashley, Chelsea, Samantha, John, and Breanna), and twelve great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Lockwood (Stan), his in-laws (Bethyl and Mike Pearson), and many nieces and nephews.
