Dorothy Alice Foreman
    Dorothy Alice Foreman (Dicks) age 84, passed away on June 19, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, MI after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on March 16, 1935 in Detroit to James Victor and Marie Johanna Dicks (Ehlers). Dorothy grew up in Detroit with 7 sisters and 1 brother.  She graduated from St. Leo’s in Detroit in 1953 and remained in touch by attending several alumni luncheons a year.
     Dorothy married Martin Foreman in 1954 in Detroit.  They were happily married for 49 years until Martin’s death in 2003.  Dorothy was a homemaker while raising their 7 children, 3 girls and 4 boys, and eventually joined the family tool and die business, Foreman Machine.  Once Martin retired, Dorothy went to work for Kroger in the bakery.  She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.  Dorothy enjoyed writing poems and stories, making and selling crafts and spending time with family and friends, shopping, lunches and casino trips.  Dorothy also enjoyed watching the wildlife at her home in Fowlerville, especially the hummingbirds, finches and deer.
   Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Martin, sons Mark and Russell.  Parents, James and Marie and 5 sisters and one brother.
    Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Mary Jane Reilly and Frances Hogan.  Children, Debra (David) Miscovich, Steven, Douglas, Donna (Fadi) Naddaf and Peggy Port.  13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the family for final expenses.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from noon until 8:00 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass, Monday, at  2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church.  Burial will follow on Tuesday at Parkview Memorial Cemetery.  Online condolences may be expressed at pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
