Sherwood William Stanton Jr.
Sherwood William Stanton Jr, of Webberville MI, passed away peacefully April 5, 2020 after fighting multiple health issues for many years. Sherwood was born February 21, 1941, the fourth of eight children born to Sherwood Sr and Ruth Stanton.
During his lifetime Sherwood had various jobs to support his family. Some of his most enjoyable were making ice cream at Miller’s Ice Cream in Eaton Rapids and helping on the farm of Jack Sherwood in Fowlerville. His last job was working for Quality Dairy in Lansing where he held many positions, such as bottling milk, making ice cream and maintenance on machines. When not working and after retirement Sherwood enjoyed playing cards and aggravation with family and friends along with going fishing.
Sherwood was blessed with his 5 children whom will miss him: Jeffery (Nora), Paul (Suzanne), Melissa (Mark) Doepker, Janise (Diego) Salas and Todd (Kim) Stanton. He will also be missed by his 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren , and his fiancé Marie Myers and her children (Wilee) (Deb) Albin, their children and grandchildren, Cindy Carr and her son and grandson, James (Jimmy) Albin and Marsha Van Dyke and their children and grandchildren.
His sisters Joan Ward, Shirley Love, Ruth Ann Hiar and Katherine (Jackie) Love and his brother Gerald (Brenda) Stanton.
Sherwood was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eva Hamaguchi and brother Samuel Stanton, along with best friends Clayton Stanton and Richard Smith.
A celebration of Sherwood’s life will be held Saturday, August, 29, 2020 at 2pm at the Grace Pointe Baptist Church, 2567 Elm Rd. Webberville, MI with Pastor Ronald Schultz officiating.
