Livingston Dems plan virtual Winans event with Peters, Slotkin
Livingston County Democrats are adding a new twist to an old tradition, their annual Winans fundraiser.
The party’s 37th annual Winans event will be on-line this year and will feature two outstanding special guests – U.S. Sen. Gary Peters and U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin.
The event will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 23 via Zoom.
Besides the special guests, the event also will include two songs performed by Billy Mack of the Juke Joint Johnnies, including an original composition. The party also will debut a campaign jingle composed for them by volunteer Nick Antonelli of Farmington Hills, a graduate of Berkeley School of Music in Boston.
The event also will include an on-line silent auction with many unique or hand-made items. The program book for the evening also will be on line for attendees to view for up to 30 days.
The early-bird rate for tickets is $75 per person through Aug. 7 and $85 per person after that. Tickets may be ordered on-line through ActBlue at: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/winans2020. Student tickets are available for $25.
Tickets can also be obtained by mailing a check made out to Livingston County Democratic Executive Committee to 8028 Grand River, Woodland Plaza Suite 7, Brighton, MI 48114. An email address should be included so that the Zoom invitation can be emailed the day of the event.
Anyone with silent auction items to donate, may stop by party headquarters from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
