 Patricia Louise Rife

1941-2020

Patricia Louise Rife went into the loving arms of the Lord our heavenly father on Tuesday August 4, 2020.  She was 79 years young.  Patricia was born January 19, 1941 in Fowlerville, Michigan on the family farm to Joseph and Mary (Mae Newton) McKnight.  She was the youngest of 5 siblings: Joe, Yvonne, Mary and Kathleen, herself being the baby of the family.  She graduated from Howell High in 1959.  She lived in Michigan most of her life, she did spend time in Arizona as well.

She married Ronald Rife on April 1, 1967. Together they had 6 children: Ron Rife, Todd Rife, Debbie Childers, Rose (Dan) Eckert, David (Trish) Rife, and Anne (Jerry) Baker. She has 20 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Mary, husband Ronald, brother Joe, sister Kathleen, son Todd and grandson Joshua.

She was glue that held our family together. She was fun, personable, had a strong faith in the Lord, was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.  She loved her coke a cola, making you laugh, giving the world’s best hugs at any time, gave good advice.  She had great sense of humor, loved pulling practical jokes. She loved music especially country music. She was a cool mom/grandma, buying dart guns to have our annual dart gun fight at Christmas.

She worked at McPherson Hospital for many years, in various clerical positions. She enjoyed working there and made lifelong friends.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies included reading books, playing cards, especially euchre and African rummy, doing jig saw puzzles, and traveling.  She visited Ireland twice, meeting her Irish cousins. Her travels included New York, Arizona, California, and Colorado.  She did volunteer work as a reserved police officer in Howell for various activities. She enjoyed going to music concerts. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and hosting the family gatherings.

She will be missed by all that knew her, second mom to many of our childhood and adult friends. She can never be replaced and will never be forgotten.

Her celebration of live was held on Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fowlerville, Michigan.
