Eastern Ingham Farmers Market in Williamston continues Sunday, Aug. 30

The Eastern Ingham Farmers Market in Williamston welcomes customers from 10am to 2pm this Sunday, August 30 in the McCormick Park parking lot in Williamston.

August and September are great months to come to the Market for sweet corn, tomatoes, cantaloupe, cucumbers, kale, swiss chard, cabbage, onions, herbs, beans, peas, homemade crafts, locally produced bread, kettle corn, refreshing hand-squeezed lemonade and iced tea, honey, maple syrup, goat milk soaps, locally produced beef, lamb, pork, eggs, canned veggies, jams and sauces, fresh cut flowers, perennial flowering plants and so much more.

The Market is directing vendors, volunteers and customers to continue with safety measures that have been put on place.

Bring your Michigan-returnable bottles and cans to us in support of the Market. Load up the car and drop off those cans and bottles that accumulated this spring!

The Market continues to participate in food assistance programs.

Take advantage of the pre-order and prepay system by using the Market's online platform or by contacting vendors directly. Then on Sunday, you simply pick-up your purchases at the Market. Ordering opens each Wednesday and closes each Friday at 5pm. Find all the details on the Market website (www.EasternInghamFarmersMarket.org > Shop > Vendor Products or contact your favorite vendors to pre-order directly with them. The vendor contact information is also on the Market website > Meet our Vendors.

Continuing through September 19 is the Market's Fall Plant and Bulb Sale fundraiser sale featuring native species to our area that are bio-diverse, deer and/or rabbit resistant, and suitable for our planting zone. Some are new varieties offering bush sizes of larger tree-like plants.

Fall Plant and Bulb pre-orders may be placed online at the Market's website:  www.EasternInghamFarmersMarket.org > Shop > Sowing Growth Fundraiser where there are pictures, detailed plant and bulb information, and ordering options. Place your pre-order online through September 19.

Later this fall, plant and bulb pre-orders will be available for pickup at the Eastern Ingham Farmers Market in Williamston on these three Sundays: September 27, October 4, and October 11. Some plants will be available for open sale at the Market on October 4 and October 11, but prices might be slightly higher if not pre-ordered.

Contact Market Manager Tom Cary at 517-525-5293 or email him at EasternInghamFM@gmail.com with any questions about the Market, the food assistance programs, becoming a vendor, or becoming a volunteer.  Given the enhanced safety precautions at the Market this season, volunteers are a particular need.
