Robert Einard ‘Bobby’ Kangas
Robert Einard “Bobby” Kangas was a son, brother, uncle, spouse, friend and although not biological, he held the special place of father and grandfather. He was known in his community as the ever so popular “Lotto Bob”, a kind smile at the Wal-Mart entrance, the Fowlerville car wash attendant and above all a man who enjoyed making others smile and laugh.
Bobby, 80, of Fowlerville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019 at 2:15 pm. He was born on July 24, 1938 in Ontonagon, Michigan. He is the son of the late Einard and Mary Alina (Honkavaara) Kangas.
Bobby attended Ontonagon Schools and on January 16, 1962 he entered the United States Army. He served one year and ten months in the military and on December 13, 1963 was honorably discharged. After his military service he spent nearly thirty years working for Hydra-matic in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
In 1973, Bobby met Caroline Leah Perkins, his loving spouse of forty-six years. He was a stepfather to Leah Rose Tackett (Perkins) and Kathy Ann Burch (Perkins).  After retirement, Bobby spent his time caring for his friends, working at the Fowlerville car wash and enjoying his grandchildren.
Bobby is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Aileen Kushnir. He is survived by his spouse, Caroline Leah Perkins of Fowlerville, Michigan; his step daughters, Leah Rose Tackett (James) of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Kathy Ann Burch of Mason, Michigan; sister, Vernamae Hibbeln of Green, Michigan; five grandchildren, Trisha Burch Abraham (Michael) of Mason, Michigan, Thomas James Johnson (Abigail) of Youngstown, New York, Tara Varghese (Dany) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Andrew Tackett of Sayre, Oklahoma and Lindsay Tackett of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one nephew, Scott Colman of Hamburg, Michigan; three nieces, Mari Lynn Faroni of Bessemer, Michigan, Karen June Dennis of Farmington, New Mexico, and Robin Aileen Dymond of Howell, Michigan; several great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
