Larry David Lucas
Larry David Lucas, 74 was born November 6, 1944 in Livonia, MI. He passed into the presence of His Savior on Thursday, April 11, 2019. He was the youngest child of Lawrence and Eunice Lucas. Larry is survived by his wife, Carol of 24 years, his ex-wife, Judy of 30 years and son Timothy Wayne, son and wife, Jeremy and Cammie, daughter and husband, Melody and James DeCoe; and 5 grandchildren, Elle, Ava, and Ana DeCoe, and Joshua and Chloe Lucas, and his sister, Karen Jackman. He has 9 nieces and nephews, 17 great nieces and nephews and a great-great nephew and a great-great niece. He was predeceased by his parents, and his two sisters, Barbara Krumlauf in 1994 and Marilyn Keller in 2010.
Larry attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois. He was a certified carpenter and was employed as a Master Carpenter at Ford Motor Co., with headquarters in Dearborn, MI. He was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything. (He learned that as a child growing up by taking apart every toy he was ever given… just to see “how it works”.
Larry loved God and his family. Enjoyed guns, motorcycles, and taking apart motors. One time he purchased a riding mower that was sold in parts at a garage sale for practically nothing. He brought it home in cardboard boxes and in a few weeks had it all put together and running. He helped many by his building skills and his ability to fix cars. He involved himself in the study of God’s Word and desired to become what God wanted him to be.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 25 at the First Baptist Church of Fowlerville, 214 S. Grand Ave., Fowlerville, MI at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Hall. All relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
