Upcoming Programs at the Fowlerville District Library

The Fowlerville District Library will be closed for a Staff In-service from 9:30am-1pm on Thursday, April 13th. The library will reopen at 1pm. The Little Free Library is available for your reading needs during this time and any materials to be returned can be placed in the blue drop box. Thank you.

Livingston Reads 2017: Jaws-- March 1st-April 30th
Livingston Reads is a “One Book, One Community” project offered by the six Livingston County libraries (Brighton, Cromaine, Fowlerville, Hamburg, Howell, and Pinckney), and is a program to encourage residents to read for enjoyment and to create community through reading.

Reading to Fred the Therapy Dog: Most Mondays at 4pm
Fred is a mature Golden Retriever certified therapy dog. Fred’s ‘mom’, Shelly, has been volunteering her dogs’ services at the library for many years. Reading to Fred improves literacy skills, builds fluency, and raises reading confidence regardless of ability. *Drop-in event.

Reading with Spring Babies-- Wednesday, April 19th at 5:30-6:30pm
Preschool-Adults. Welcome spring to the Fowlerville District Library. Indoors, we will read to small animals like bunnies and chicks. Outdoors, we will visit with larger farm animals like goats and alpacas. Animals are provided by Chamberlin Pony Rides and Mobile Petting Zoo. *Participation is limited. Register in person to attend. Registration begins April 5th.

Garden Club-- Thursday, April 20th at 2:30pm
Adults. This group meets once a month on a Thursday and is brought to you by the local Master Gardeners of the Fowlerville Garden Club. *Registration for this program is now closed.

Glass Mosaic Votive Holders-- Thursday, April 20th at 7pm
Adults. Join us as we conclude our Winter Crafting Series! At this craft night we’ll be using stained glass and creativity to make mosaic candle holders! *Register in person to attend. Registration begins April 6th and includes a refundable $5 cash deposit.

SuperWhoLock Fandom Party-- Friday, April 21st at 5-8pm
Teens 6th-12th grades. Whether you're already a fan of Supernatural, Doctor Who, or Sherlock, or just want to find out why everyone else is so obsessed with these outlandish shows, this is your chance to hang out with other fans, learn what it's all about, and bask in all of your collective geekery. We will watch the first episode of each show, play trivia games, and eat pizza and popcorn (or fish fingers and custard, we haven't really decided yet). *Registration is required and includes a 2016-2017 signed program permission form. Registration begins April 7th. Register by April 19th to attend.

Through the Eyes of Rose: Author Talk with John Kozak- Thursday, April 27th at 7pm
Adults. Meet Michigan author John Kozak as he shares his mother’s story. Through the Eyes of Rose tells the story of how Rose Kozak defied the Czechoslovakian Communists in 1949 and escaped with her children through the Bohemian Forest to freedom. John Kozak was only seven when he escaped with his mother and older sister from communist rule. Books will be available for purchase and signing. Light refreshment will be served. *Register in person to attend. Registration begins April 6th and includes a refundable $5 cash deposit.Copies of Kozak’s book “Through the Eyes of Rose” will be given at registration while supplies last on a first-come first-served basis.
