 Fowlerville Fair Open Class Registration is Now Open

Anticipation has been building for all of us Michigan artists, makers, growers, and collectors, as we’ve waited eagerly for our beloved Fair’s Open Class registration to go live. Especially poignant is the return of Open Class Home Arts, which is making a triumphant return from its heartbreaking cancellation in 2023.

The revitalization is in full swing, and your wait is over, my friends! Fowlerville Fair Open Class registration is LIVE, and will remain open through July 1st. The only requirement to enter is being a Michigan resident over the age of 5… no memberships or affiliations required.

Excited? So are we! Here’s how the Open Class Home Arts competition works…

For every 25 projects you enter, it costs just $10, and you can enter an unlimited number of projects. You can submit one entry per Class, with hundreds of Adult AND Youth Classes to choose from in Canning, Baking, Fine Arts, Folk Arts, Photography, Media Arts, Needlecraft/Fiber Arts, Floriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture, Special Needs, Inventions, Robotics, and more. (Collectors, make sure to check out our brand new Antiques Classes in the Folk Art Department!)

All Exhibitors will receive a complimentary day pass to the Fair, which runs July 22nd – July 27th, plus an invitation to a first-time, special Fair-week Exhibitor’s Reception, where we’ll celebrate the efforts and ingenuity of exhibitors, judges, and volunteers alike.

And, of course, there’s the chance to win ribbons, premiums, and bragging rights! These are the hot fudge, sprinkles, and cherry on top of this quintessential Fair experience.

If you haven’t already joined our “Fowlerville Fair Open Class Home Arts” Facebook group, now’s the time to do it. We’ll be posting judge’s tips, judging criteria, Open Class updates, and inspiration right up to Fair week, and invite you to share your own questions and advice.

Understand that by participating in this year’s Open Class Home Arts, you are sending an unmistakable message to our Fair Board and community that these life skills that have been passed down through the generations, and that make our lives easier, more comfortable, tastier, cozier, smarter, more beautiful and more precious, continue to have value. They continue to be worth celebrating, and passing on to the generations to come.
