 Norma Jean Johnson

Norma Jean Johnson, age 83 of Williamston MI, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. She was born on April 12, 1939 in Stockbridge MI, the daughter of Orla and Mildred Alice (Sherman) Ackley. Jean was a graduate of Stockbridge High School, then earned a Bachelor of Art Degree and a Master of Art Degree from Michigan State University.

Jean taught elementary school grades K-4 for 38 years. She taught 2 years with Fowlerville Public Schools, 3 years with Stockbridge Public Schools and the remaining years with Webberville Public Schools. She was always an avid educator and was active with the Child Study Club and Child Advanced Club, both in Webberville for many years. Jean was a member of Webberville United Methodist Church for 55 years. She was a life member and very active with the FFA Alumni in Webberville, where she helped with preparing children for leadership speeches. Jean loved to ride her bike and enjoyed spending her winters in Zephyrhills, FL. Above all, spending time with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.

On July 1, 1961, Jean married the love of her life, Clifford Johnson, and they spent a wonderful 61 years of marriage together. Jean is survived by Clifford and their sons, Randy (Susan) Johnson and Dan (Mellissa) Johnson; grandchildren, Danielle (Brent) McCarrick, Cassandra (Andy) Wise, Justin (Lauren) Johnson, Jordan (Morgan) Johnson, Jakob Johnson and Ryan Powers; great-grandchildren, Chase, Jacob, Gavin, Parker, Laiklyn, Cameron and Kendall; brothers, Bill (Tootie) Ackley and Dale Ackley; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elaine Ackley; and sister-in-law, Betty Ackley.

Funeral Services were being held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Webberville United Methodist Church with Pastor Paula Vergowven officiating. Interment was held at Alchin Farm Cemetery, Webberville.
