John T. Hernden
John T. Hernden of Byron, Michigan passed away Thursday November 1, 2018 after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Detroit Michigan on December 8, 1939, John was the youngest son of Wesley and Ruth (Bones) Hernden. He grew up in Westland, Michigan and graduated from Bentley High School in Livonia, Michigan. John married Janet Nelson on September 2, 1961 and together they raised four children: Cathy, Bonnie, Mike and Sheri. John was the owner of Brake Tech Inc. located in Fowlerville, Michigan. In earlier years he enjoyed many activities. He was a member of the Corvette Club of Michigan, and was also a private pilot who enjoyed the freedom of flying his own plane. Later in life, he enjoyed Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR from his easy chair. John was an animal advocate. His favorite cat, Charlie Chip, gave him many years of joy and comfort. He is now at peace with his four-legged friends.
John is survived by his caregiver and devoted wife Jan, his children, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
He will be missed by many. His wife would like to give special thanks to their devoted daughters Cathy and Bonnie (Mark), as well as Chuck Watkins and Ed Bardon for always being there with a helping hand.
In keeping with his wishes, a graveside service was privately held at Greenwood Cemetery on Nov 7, 2018, Fowlerville, Michigan. Dr. Dan Paternoster officiated. Arrangements were made by Herrmann Funeral Home, Fowlerville, Michigan.
