‘Livingston Paint Out 2017’ set for July 22-23; sign-in at Howell Opera House 
   The Brighton Art Guild and the Livingston Arts Council are co-hosting the two-day ‘Livingston Paint Out 2017’, a plain air competition in which artists complete a painting(s) outdoors within a specific time period, on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23. Participants can paint anywhere in Livingston County--from the many lakes and country roads to the charming towns with sidewalk bistros and brick storefronts. The Paint Out event is open to all artists, all ages, all media!
    Artists will sign in from 8 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, July 22 and/or 8 AM to 11 AM on Sunday, July 23 at the Howell Opera House. A continental breakfast will be provided as well as a list of possible places to paint and a bottle of water for the road. Paintings can be returned to the Cobach Center at 202 W. Main St. in Brighton on July 23rd between 2 and 5 PM.    
    Paintings will be displayed at the Cobach Center and ArtVentures in Brighton from July 24th – August 3rd, and will then be displayed and judged in the Brighton Art Guild tent during the Brighton Fine Art & Music Festival August 4th – 6th. Cash prizes will be awarded in several categories, including Best of Show, 2nd& 3rd place, and People’s Choice Award.
    Registration cost is $25 – artists may register by calling the Livingston Arts Council office at 517-540-0065, or by filling out an artist application available on the Howell Opera House website (http://www.howelloperahouse.com/artist-applications/)
