Fowlerville High Athletic Director announces new varsity football coach
Fowlerville High School Athletic Director Brian Osborn announced recently that Jon Fletcher will be the new Fowlerville High School Varsity Football.
Coach Fletcher takes over for Bret Shrader who was coming off a 7-3 season that included a Division 3 playoff appearance. The position became vacant when Shrader decided to leave, citing a desire to spend more time with his family and their various activities.”
“Coach Fletcher is a special education teacher in our district and has done a tremendous job in the classroom and on the athletic field,” said Osborn “He brings a high degree of knowledge to the varsity head football coaching position.’
Osborn noted that Fletcher had been a member of the Haslett High football coaching staff for seven years prior to his new position here. He also worked with the FHS Track team this spring.
“Coach Fletcher has consistently challenged student athletes to be successful academically and athletically,” said Osborn. “He has stressed and taught accountability, responsibility, technique, and discipline to all of his student athletes in all facets of their lives. In addition, he has emphasized the importance of teamwork, character and leadership development, and communication skills. He is extremely dedicated and committed to maximizing a student athlete’s potential both on and off the field.”
“His dedication and commitment to providing our student athletes with positive characteristic traits and skills on and off the field, will help our football program to continue to grow and be successful,” the athletic director added. “Coach Fletcher has a gift that has allowed him to connect with our student-athletes and build positive relationships…I welcome Coach Jon Fletcher to the Gladiator Coaching family.”
