James C. Roberts
   James C. Roberts, age 76 and lifetime resident of the Fowlerville area, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, June 20, 2017.  He was born June 8, 1941 in Fowlerville to Clemence G. and Vivian June (Smith) Roberts.  Beloved husband of Charlotte I. (Witt) Roberts whom he married July 2, 1966 in Howell, MI.  Loving father of Kimberly Holbrook of Fowlerville, Sherri (Tracy) Dickens of Greenbrier, Tennessee and Christine (Derek) Krueger of Williamston.  Grandfather of James, Jason, Jordan, Mercedes, Melisa and Hanna; great-grandfather of Jameson and Olivia.  Also survived by siblings, Danny (Sharon) Roberts, Scarlet Roberts and Wayne (Veronica) Roberts.  
     James attended Fowlerville High School.  He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 and completed his G.E.D.   He worked for Reuland Electric Company, then XLO in Howell and retired from General Motors Fisher Body in Lansing in 2003.  James enjoyed hunting, traveling, woodworking, singing in the church choir and serving on the Church Council.  He umpired and coached softball leagues.  He was an avid Michigan State football fan.  He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  
     James was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, 132 Benjamin Street, Fowlerville where services were held Saturday, July 24, at 12:00 noon (visitation from 10-12 p.m.) with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation also took place on Friday, July 23, at MacDonald’s Funeral Home, Howell.
