Ross Curtis
Ross Curtis, who grew up in Fowlerville and graduated from Fowlerville High School, was called to his eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at age 92. He was born on July 31, 1924 in Houghton Lake, Michigan. He married Vida Lockwood on Sept. 11, 1948 in Fowlerville. The couple moved to the Tampa, Florida area in 1952. Mr. Curtis was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy and his ship was deployed in the Pacific theater. He worked construction most of his life. He enjoyed golfing and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Buccaneers. He was a member of the Northdale Lutheran Church and served in many various leadership positions over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Joyce and Louis; and his sister, May June Doty. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vida, as well as the Curtis and Lockwood families and many friends.
Ross was buried at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with military honors.
