 Joyce Louise Call

Joyce Louise (Norton) Call was born on March 30, 1929 to Alba and Hulda (Fall) Norton. She passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023. Joyce married Francis John Call on September 11, 1948 and they had five children: William (Judy) Call, Deborah (Larry) Gardner, Donald (Maureen) Call, Thomas (Patty) Call, and Pattie (Steve) Edmundson.

Joyce loved her family, cleaning house, spending time with friends and neighbors, and preparing favorite dishes like potato salad and goulash. She and Francis enjoyed square dancing, traveling with their camper, planting flowers around their Fowlerville home in the spring, and sitting on the porch watching Fowlerville folks drive and walk by. In addition to raising five children, Francis and Joyce fostered several children from Ingham and Livingston counties. Joyce was member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and worked at Utilex, Kreeger Dairy and Felpausch Foods.

Joyce is survived by her five children and one brother, Donald Norton of Webberville, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; two sisters: LaVon Corser and Priscilla Bennett; two brothers; Neil Norton and Ralph Norton; and her parents, Alba and Hulda Norton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the VFW Post 6464 Women’s Auxiliary of Fowlerville or Elara Caring Hospice Foundation (900 First St. Jackson, MI 49202)

Honorary Pallbearers: Matthew Call, Jacob Call, Ryan Call, Larry Gardner, Dan Call, and Tim Call.

Services were held Thursday, March 16, at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville. Visitation took place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, followed by the service at 12 noon.
