Got ART to once again display talents of Livingston County students
Got ART returns this week for its 24th year! Livingston Arts Council is proud to present this art show which displays the talents of Livingston County students K-12 at The Historic Howell Opera House in downtown Howell. The art teachers from the area schools select the student art to be showcased for a week.
The quality of work from the schools is amazing. Each year is different because the of the talent of the students and the talent of the teachers in selection of art in relation to standards of curriculum. Submissions may be two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. The Council will have two shows (Secondary and Elementary) running for two weeks with March 13th as a break to set up the Elementary show.
The students’ work never ceases to amaze! The teachers draw out the creative ability of their students and they deliver! Many people in the community have commented on the ability our young people possess. The Art Council is thrilled with the caliber our county’s art students.
The Got Art Show creates a space for student artists to show their talent to our county, add the exhibition to their list of accomplishments for future college applications, increase their knowledge of displaying their work, and possibly sell their work to an interested person. It also lets them see the other students’ work and gain inspiration to apply to future art of their own.
The Got Art Show for Middle and High School (6th grade thru 12th grade) is March 7th thru March 12th. The elementary Got Art Show is March 14th thru March 19th.
aThe show is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 4 pm until 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm until 5:00 pm
