Ethel (Warren) Frazier
Ethel (Warren) Frazier, 93 years old of Howell, Michigan passed away November 1, 2021. She was born September 11, 1928 in Wolverine, Michigan to William Warren and Ramsay (McLeod) Warren. Ethel grew up on the family homestead farm in northern Michigan. She was the 5th child in a sibship of 6. Ethel was shaped by close family ties, love for her family and the very hard work required of all on the farm. She also shared stories of the many happy times skiing, tobogganing, 4-H and dances at the Grange Hall with family and friends.
She met her husband Burnie Frazier when she was 16 and he was 17. They had very little time together before Burnie was sent off for duty in WWII. They married two years later in October of 1946 soon after Burnie returned from the war.
Ethel will be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a kind and generous person. Especially hard working, and always willing to help others. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved nothing better than cooking meals and baking for those she loved. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies and amazing dinner rolls. Ethel never attended a family gathering without bringing an array of good things to eat. At Christmas we all received a huge platter of her specially selected cookies.
Throughout Ethel’s life she found many things that brought her happiness. There were two things that stood out. She possessed a deep love of nature and the outdoors. Walking and hiking in the woods and on nature trails brought her joy. Observing the trees, birds and woodland animals, looking for morel mushrooms all brought her a deep sense of pleasure and contentment. The other pleasure was listening to Burnie and her brother Fred play their country music. Ethel held a deep love of country music.
Ethel is preceded in death by her husband Burnie and three of her siblings. Ethel will be missed by her children Dawn (Terry) Riddle and Scott (Laura) Frazier. She is also survived by three grandsons: Erik Frazier, Chad (Beth) Frazier and Ian (Melissa) Riddle and four lovely great granddaughters Paige, Grace, Isabella and Olivia. Ethel will be missed by her two surviving sisters Wilma Viau and Rose Jones, as well as nieces and nephews and many friends.
