 Timothy Robert Lane

Timothy Robert Lane, of Fowlerville Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, surrounded by friends and family at the age of 69. He was born in Detroit on September 18, 1951, to Lorraine Betty (Kozlowski) and Robert Truman Lane. After graduating from Romulus High School in 1969, Tim completed a painting apprenticeship program to continue his work as a residential and commercial painter.

On February 20, 1974, Tim married Darlene (Kaczorowski). After 15 years of marriage, they moved to their forever home in Fowlerville, Michigan, and in 1990 they welcomed their only child, Elizabeth. That year, Tim also began his business, Lane Painting, LLC, which he owned and operated for over 20 years.

Tim lived a vibrant life and had many interests and hobbies. One of his first loves was racing. He raced frequently at Flat Rock Speedway and Milan Dragway. Tim also had a love for the outdoors and when he moved from metro-Detroit to his Fowlerville home he became an avid sportsman. You could regularly find him hunting or ice fishing, especially at the family's cabin in Hubbard Lake, Michigan. He also enjoyed finding new ways to prepare the deer and fish he would catch. He took up making homemade sausage, jerky, meat sticks, and also experimented with smoking meats.

To fulfill his love of the outdoors and sportsmanship outside of hunting season Tim joined the Livingston Conservation and Sports Association. Here Tim made many close friends when he got involved in the association's IDPA matches, where he won multiple trophies and first place ribbons.

Tim was also an avid reader with a keen interest for non-fiction novels on World War II. He particularly enjoyed reading about ships and aircrafts used by the allied forces. His interests and love of history often influenced family vacations. Some of his favorite trips were to the Experimental Aircraft Association's airshow in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, Patroits Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston, South Carolina, the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida, to see the Blue Angels, and many trips to MAPS Air Museum in Canton, Ohio.

Tim is survived by his loving wife Darlene, daughter Elizabeth, and her husband Adam (Kurniawan). He is also survived by his siblings Judy (Saucedo), Matthew, Mark, Eric, Jeanette (Booker), and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Jr. and Stephen.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, July 21, from noon to 4 p.m., with the service at 4 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville. Cremation took place after the funeral.

The family is asking for those wanting to send condolences to refrain from sending flowers and instead consider donating to the Livingston Conservation and Sports Association in Tim's honor. They host several activities for kids like hunter safety and youth archery, and his family would like other families to enjoy these activities like Tim did with his daughter. Donations can be mailed to: Livingston Conservation and Sportman's Association, P.O. Box 614, Brighton, MI 48114, United States of America.
