MSU Extension offering training sessions on Pantry Food Safety
Michigan State University Extension food safety educators will be hosting a live online webinar focusing on “Pantry Food Safety—It’s Your Job.” This is a two-part series.
Part One of the series will cover the following topics why food safety in a food bank/pantry is important, handwashing, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and receiving food product.
Part Two will cover a continuation of receiving food product, storage of food product, re-packaging, and the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Law. This webinar is based on current food safety and Michigan Food Code as it relates to food banks/and food pantries.
Participants are encouraged to ask their questions during the Q & A portion of the event. Food Safety Educators will be available for this session and will provide the most up-to-date research-based information. Participants who complete both sessions 1 & 2 will receive a pantry food safety training certificate.
Organizations that register participants will receive incentives upon submission of evaluation.
