Mario Hune
    Mario Hune, age 90, a longtime resident of Fowlerville, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 17, 1926 in Renosa, Mexico to Henry and Petra (Santos Gonzalez) Hune. He married Elizabeth DeTroyer on August 21, 1954 in Fowlerville.
     He is survived by his wife of 62 years, and his children: David (Kim) Hune of Fowlerville, Linda (Perry) Donaldson of Stockbridge, Laura (Matthew) Shreve of Fowlerville and Andrew Hune of Fowlerville; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Henry and Albert, sister: Alice and a granddaughter: Sara. 
    He proudly served in the U.S. Navy until being honorably discharged on August 2, 1946 and he also proudly served in the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged on January 3, 1957. He retired in 1983 after 26 years with A&P grocery. 
    A memorial service was held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Herrmann Funeral Home. pjherrmannfuneralhome.com
