Jon Reid Lane
Jon Reid Lane of Fowlerville, born on June 24, 1965 to Ivan Reid Lane and Judith Anne Loose, passed away at home on July 15, 2025. He is survived by his son, his boy wonder, Jordan Reid Lane (CO), mother Judith (NC), sisters Lee Thiele (FL) and Sasha Palmer (NC), as well as many beloved extended family members. JR was fortunate to grow up closely with two of his cousins of whom he referred to as his brothers, Jim and John Ackerman. Please continue to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers of healing. JR was gritty and his sense of humor would either frustrate or entertain, but under all that was straight truth. He was kind and generous to all he knew and he never knew a stranger. A fixer of all things and at the drop of a hat when called…if he wasn’t already there. A heart with a soft spot for animals, a rescuer and caregiver of many over his years. He was a mix of so many things, so many contradictions, and that’s why to know him was to love him. No formal services were held. A celebration of life was held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at The Roadhouse in Williamston. Special thank you to Scott and his employees for accommodating such a phenomenal turn out, as well as to Lisa Lane and her daughters Nicole and Kayli, for all their work on the beautiful things and assistance with the hard things. All of you held a special place in his heart too.
JR was laid to rest at the Webberville Cemetery on Sunday, August 10, 2025 by a small group of close family. We love you more Maverick and you will be so missed. FnA!
