 Historical Corner

by the Livingston Centre Historical Society

The Livingston Centre Historical Village members and volunteers are so grateful for a fun and successful Fair Week. So many people stopped in to see the historic buildings in order to learn more of our local history. It was wonderful to talk with so many visitors from all around Livingston County, and beyond.

Many people watched demonstrations, bought souvenirs, gifts, raffle tickets, or simply made donations. All of these help in continuing the restoration and maintenance of the Village.

The Village has many newly donated or improved things to see, all because of the hard work and generosity of tradesmen, local businesses, and artisans. The new roof on the Kirkland House, the newly cleaned buildings, the new blacksmith products, all are proof of the ongoing improvements.

Please continue to support your local Historical Society as they continue this important work. The Fall Fest is just over a month away; corporate sponsors are still needed to offer the best event we can for all area residents. There are still vendor spots at a very reasonable cost; please refer to the Facebook page/Livingston Centre Historical Village or email lchv2023@gmail.com.

Remember to visit the website for future programs at the Fowlerville Library, in conjunction with the Historical Village. Monday, Aug. 11 is the date of the next gathering of "Small Towns, Big Stories" at 1:00 p.m. inside the Library. Guests will have the opportunity to share personal stories and family histories during this informal get-together. And continue to watch your Fowlerville News & Views for announcements of upcoming events.
