 Earl Hanna

Earl Hanna, age 88, of Fowlerville, Michigan passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022. He was born on January 14, 1934 in Selma, Michigan to the late Claude Hanna and Ester (Bishop) Hanna. He married Margaret (Clapper) Hanna on December 26, 1955.

Earl was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Earl was a mechanic and wrecker driver for Bob Smith Ford in Fowlerville, MI. from 1954 until he went into the United States Army in 1955 where he served until 1957 and was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves in October 1959. He went back to work for Bob Smith Ford in 1957 until they closed in 2016.

Being the hard worker that he was, Earl then went to work for Jeffrey Automotive until his retirement in 2018. Earl and his wife Margaret, along with their sons, 2 brothers and sisters-in-laws spent many vacations in Curtis, MI. on Little Manistique Lake where they loved to fish and play cards.

Earl also served his community for 20 years, from 1960 to 1980, on the Fowlerville Fire Department with several of those years as Assistant Fire Chief.

Earl is survived by his son Steven Earl Hanna and daughter-in-law Barbara (Soderquist) Hanna, and his grandchildren Joshua Earl Hanna, Allison Kay DeGroot (Matt) and Nicole Hanna. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Mackenna, Morgan and Averi Hanna, also Ella and Sophia DeGroot, his brothers Lee and Bob, sister Marcie Hatt, brother-in-law Thomas Clapper, and many nieces and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 66 years Margaret and their son Kevin William Hanna. Also preceding him in death were his brothers Ron, John, and Billy and his sister Marie.

Services were being held at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville, MI. on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Noon. Visitation was taking place prior to funeral starting at 10:00 A.M. Interment was going to be immediately following the funeral at Greenwood Cemetery.
