George Grover
George Grover passed away in Arcadia, Florida on Monday, June 6, 2022. He was born January 28, 1935, in Handy Township, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Ella (Bradley) Grover, son Brian Grover (2021), sister Bettie (infant 1921), brothers Robert (2007) and Harold (2014) Grover.
George was a longtime Fowlerville resident and graduated from Fowlerville High School. He served in the USAF from 1954 to 1958. He retired from the GM Proving Grounds in Milford after 30 years of service. He served as a Constable and president for the Livingston County Constables Assoc. and later a Deputy on the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, teaching hunter, gun, bow, snowmobile, and water safety. George received a sharpshooter award during his tenure as a Constable. George was also a member and officer for the Fowlerville Volunteer Fire Department, receiving awards and merits for life-saving actions.
George married Nancy on September 5, 1964, lived on Maple St. for over 30 years, and retired to Arcadia, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee (Schlarb) Grover, Arcadia, FL; sister, Margaret Sharpe, Highland, MI; sons Todd (Charles) Grover of Pleasant Garden, NC and Jeffrey (Tina) Grover of Mancelona, MI; along with several nieces and nephews.
George was interned to his final resting location, along with his son Brian, within the columbarium at the Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery, Sarasota County, Florida, State Rd 72.
